Caits Meissner is the author of the illustrated hybrid poetry book Let It Die Hungry (The Operating System, 2016). She is published in literary journals including The Literary Review, Narrative, Drunken Boat, Adroit, and The Offing. Caits has taught, consulted and co-created extensively for over 15 years across a wide spectrum of communities, with a special focus on imprisoned people, women and youth. She is the Prison and Justice Writing Program Manager at PEN America in New York City.

Brit Barnhouse's previous work can be found in Fugue, Saltfront, Writers Resist, The Hopper, Collateral, and more. When not writing about the ever-blurred lines between animals and humans, she can be found hoping for close encounters with whales in the Puget Sound, giving her dogs belly rubs, or tossing treats out to the neighborhood crows.

Kristine Langley Mahler's creative nonfiction received the 2016 Rafael Torch Award for Literary Nonfiction from Crab Orchard Review and has appeared/is forthcoming in The Rumpus, New Delta Review, Quarter After Eight, Sweet, Storm Cellar, and elsewhere.

 

Kevin Mahler holds degrees from The University of Iowa and Michigan State University. He lives in Nebraska.
